Fundy Shooting Sports Inc.

Celebrating Over 35 Years Serving The Firearms Community Of Saint John

Membership Information

NEW MEMBERS MUST ATTEND A REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING TO JOIN THE CLUB. THERE IS A MANDATORY RANGE SAFETY ORIENTATION THAT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU CAN USE THE MISPEC RANGE.

*** WE DO NOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS ON LINE! ***

NEW MEMBERS ALSO MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS BEFORE JOINING.

A VALID FIREARMS LICENSE ( PAL or RPAL ) IS MANDATORY:

*** NO EXCEPTIONS, NO PENDING LICENSES, NO EXPIRED LICENSES ***

FOR VERIFICATION YOU MUST BRING YOUR LICENSE WHEN YOU JOIN THE CLUB.  LICENSES NUMBERS ARE VERIFIED BY THE PROVINCIAL CHIEF FIREARMS OFFICER.

AS A CLUB MEMBER THERE ARE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW REGARDING YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.  SO PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

Your Club has Administrative and Operational responsibilities on behalf of the membership - issuing cards and keys, purchasing insurance, maintaining certification of the ranges, road maintenance, snow plowing, etc. Members also have responsibilities - they need to stay informed of personal requirements - maintain a valid Firearms License, know the rules of the club and follow them, maintain a current membership to have access to all facilities, etc. The Membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Membership ends on December 31, no matter when you joined. At 1:00 P.M. on December 31, the lock on the gate is changed, effectively ending your membership. To receive new membership, 3 things are required: a) a completed, signed application form b) payment in full c) your old key must be turned in. Membership will NOT be issued until these things are completed, so it serves no purpose to do them separately. As soon as membership is issued, the Chief Firearms Office receives an updated membership list. This provides all the information they require to maintain and / or issue your Possession & Acquisition license. People who are notified their Firearms license will not be issued without proof of membership ought NOT to expect an instant, immediate solution by the Club to resolve their lack of personal responsibility. The solution is simple: to avoid difficulty, maintain a valid membership. Safe shooting!
